This week – last night and for the next 3 nights, Hope Community Church is running a neighbourhood crusade with guest speakers.  The first night was already amazingly well attended and there was a huge response to the altar, new salvations and the healing of broken lives.  God has been good!  Please pray for this ongoing outreach to the community of Good Hope.

Exciting for Gord and I was sitting behind a bench full of our resident children who danced their little hearts out during praise and worship!  Denzil, with huge chipmunk cheeks and tiny feet, was amazing to watch – we didn’t know he could move that fast at 3 yrs. old.   Wish you could have all been a part of the moment .

We praise God for another year to serve in Zimbabwe with the granting of a new work permit.  Our next expiry date is Aug. 26, 2011!

Electricity has been a huge problem these days.  And so makes it hard to keep updates happening, but does keep life interesting .  We are praising God for the granting of another year work permit in Zimbabwe.  There is peace in being stable again for another year and knowing that God isn’t finished with us yet.

The Secondary School block is growing fast and furiously now, once the foundation was complete! A weeks difference is shown above.

And Lisa went for a follow up at clinic again, but hasn’t gained weight this month.  Despite growing more beautiful everyday, we still have a fight ahead of us.  We ‘ve now added formula to her diet, as well as whole milk, a full meal compliment and a nutritional suppliment called ‘Plumpy nut’.  Please continue to pray for this little mite and her healing.  We’re now in search of an ‘exersaucer’ (or ‘ring walker’ as they call them in Zim) to give her opportunity to strengthen her legs and arms and build some muscle mass.

Please pray for God to have His way.  Our current permit expires August 25th, and all necessary documents have been submitted.  Now we wait.

Praise God for our many staff that catch the vision of the Village of Hope and take on the mission of caring for children!  Our teachers that dedicate their days to not only academics, but to caring for the hurt and vulnerable.  Our moms for their dedication 24/7 to lives that need stability and hope.  Our construction workers that understand that what they build will reap benefit in the lives of the children for years to come.

Praise God for this little mite and the healing that God is providing under the watchful eye of her new mom Addeline and Auntie Winnie!  Check out our last newsletter for glimpses of the beautiful little girl.

Please pray that all we do is done with excellence in the eyes of God.

That as the Secondary School develops, curriculum is decided upon, teachers are hired, and buildings are erected that we hear God’s heart for the children and respond accordingly.

That as we begin to pursue the establishment of the Medical Clinic, that all the necessary pieces and people (approved plans, workers, doctor and nurses, supplies, agreements) would come together in a manner that pleases God and remains in line with our vision and mission statements at the Village of Hope.

Despite the changes to the economy, the growing choices in the shops, the country is still in flux and so as we enter another election year in 2011, please pray with us that peace will reign, that God will have His way in this beautiful nation.
