We praise God for the changes we’ve seen in the life of Tatenda since moving to the Village of Hope Children’s Homes! Once constantly on the run, sleeping in bathrooms and absconding school, instead – giving him a stable environment, a loving home, we have watched a new boy emerge! A boy with hope, who does his chores, who smiles more than ever, who is polite and teachable. Thank you God for the opportunity to affect this young life!

For patience as the electricity cuts seem to get worse by the week. The days of black outs are trying our patience, and making us tired as we continually ‘reorganize’ life to meet demands of work, village and home without the power and the water that it affects.

Well, after over 60 hours of electricity cuts this week, we ended the week on a brighter note – pun intended
. The electricity that makes doing laundry, getting water, and contingency plans for cooking forever a challenge, can be wearing on one’s mind and body. So how awesome it was to spend Sunday morning celebrating the Village of Hope at Hope Community Church!

Our resident children formed a choir for praise and worship, our CHAPS kids competed in a quiz on Bible and Village of Hope history and sang, Gord preached on ‘Unlocking Hope For Their Future’ and we dedicated babies to the Lord. We acknowledged and honored our staff and children alike, and we praise God for HCC and Pastor Zowa who gave us the opportunity.
Today and just a few moments ago, we bid farewell to one of our resident babes into an adoptive home. A rare occurrence in Zimbabwe, but such a blessing for the child. We prayed and sent Natsai with our blessings and into the arms of her new adoptive mom. Please pray for her ‘brothers and sisters’ as they deal with this loss in their own way.

This day is a teary one as we finally see our crew move to the site of the Medical Clinic to begin putting in the foundations! This has been a long time coming and we know is the culmination of the dreams of many an individual. Thank you God for the opportunity to serve children, and the community of Good Hope in this way – by seeing the sick made well at the Village of Hope. We have a long way to go, so please do continue to pray the process through – beyond the buildings. God is awesome!
