Our heart.. the children!

Please continue to pray for our resident children! They bring alot of issues with them to the VOH from their past life. Pray for the moms that deal with these issues day to day – for wisdom, for patience, for God’s love! Pray for our children by name.

PTL for friends and containers!

At end of June, we welcomed a huge container from our friends in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! It contained blessings too many to count!

Praising God for the changes we DON’T see!  Never mind the buildings, God is doing things in the hearts of our children. Children like Image who has had some behavioral troubles. But due to a great teacher, a little understanding, prayer and finding the right buttons, we are watching a turn around happen in this young boys life! Thank you God!

Even in darkness…

Psalm 112:4 tells us that ‘Even in darkness, light dawns for the upright…’.  How good are God’s promises that despite poverty, politics and instability, God provides light! For our paths, a clear way forward, sustenance where there seemed to be none. We are so thankful to our partners for their part in these recent developments….

The washroom block for the Secondary School is nearing completion (pictured right).  Once done – this will allow our Registration to be independent, and not under another local school! Thank you! And the electricity for the first ever boys youth apartment is going in.

At the end of June we received an anxiously awaited for container from our friends in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada! WHAT A BLESSING! As a riding tractor, school uniforms, laptops for the computer lab (happy students assisting with the off load and set up, pictured below), sewing machines to teach Fashions & Fabrics, and other items too numerous to mention were loaded off to shouts of praise!

And we celebrated as our sports teams from the school earned a name for themselves – girls Netball & Volleyball teams in 1st place!

The downside of these last 2 weeks have been the many and looonnnnggg electricity cuts which makes business and cooking dinners a challenge.  And in the midst of a Zimbabwe winter, means being outside in the cold cooking over a fire, that much more of a challenge.
