The farm at the Village of Hope has a three fold purpose;

- to provide a source of fresh vegetables and fruit to the children’s homes, preschool and feeding program.

- to provide employment to local people

- to provide a source of produce sold at reduced costs to people who wouldn’t be able to afford it otherwise.

The crops grown regularly include maize (corn), potatoes, onions, carrots, tomatoes, covo (pictured below). Fruits grown include bananas, avocadoes, and mangoes.

In 2008, each Children’s Home began to establish their own small garden as well, teaching each child the practical skill of growing and caring for their own vegetables in preparation for their years of independence as an adult.
